I am doing things differently from others in this challenge. I am working on building up my passive income as a Contributing Writer through eHow.com. I do have other websites I own that I would like to promote through the top article directory site EzineArticles.com. So my primarily goal is to reach over 100 articles for the eHow website and I am already on my way.

I would like to write at least 8 articles a week. This will give me a total of 104 articles at the end of my 100 Days Marathon. This will be past the date that others who started earlier than me. I didn’t see the point in pushing myself so hard to meet up with everyone else and it wouldn’t give me a lot of time to complete my other projects.

I have learned more about the challenge and found out that all articles have to be submitted to EzineArticles which means I probably will not do my updates through the Ning site.  Also I have a free membership too so it would take me past the 100 days easily as it takes a bit of time for articles to be successfully submitted.  I do plan to do an EZA challenge after I finish building my websites.

After I complete this challenge I would like to write articles for EzineArticles however I need to finish another revenue  site before doing the second challenge.  I have completed  7 articles and I still need to reread and edit the others before submitting them.

So this brings down my total articles to complete: 104-7= 97 Articles.

Seeing many of these women and I wondered if they were serious but they seemed to be that serious, basically thinking they are the cat’s meow and more than a bag of potato chips. The premiere show looked at the ladies’ lives, their past track record and unfortunately each are single.  They learned when a man compliments them to say thank you and don’t try to water it down. I have in the past been guilty of that one, and the guy is not at fault but it is the woman who couldn’t accept the compliments. Having the self-confidence to accept compliments from others and know that you do deserve them. There is nothing wrong with that however do not fish for compliments, and on the show there was indeed one woman who did that with one man, trying to get him to give her compliments. Compliments are suppose to happen naturally, and freely but not forced. I’m excited to see more of what they will talk about in the future episodes.

I have enjoyed the search for free items and applying for them. I would say that the best bit is when it comes in the mail and having the opportunity of opening my mail with absolute excitement.

Today I received my 1 year subscription to Blender Magazine which is a publication focusing on music news along with hot current and upcoming music artists.  I received my five month subscription to Cosmopolitan which I plan on subscribing too at the end of the free trial. The final item was my free 2 year subscription to Wonder Time which is a parenting  and family focused magazine. I am interested in writing several parenting pieces. Although I do not have any children, I can still offer my insight and advice to others. I desire to be a mother in the near future if the opportunity presents itself in the form of marriage.

I am looking forward to more free subscriptions begin such as Self, Shape, and Glamour magazine.  I enjoy gaining great offers such as something like this.

1. Google

I know that Google is now a household name, and everyone tells you to Google it when you are searching for something on the internet.  I want to share with you some of the research tools that I use for myself. Google’s search engine is vast and although they do not say how many sites they have in their index but I am sure that there are probably a trillion? Or maybe billions perhaps. Who knows! However, I manage to find many great sites every single time I search.  I recommend you to use the advanced search features to find more specialized results.

2. Google Apps and Products

I visit this page a lot throughout my day as I use many of these applications for my business such as Gmail, Google Docs, Google Reader, Blog Search, and more.  I have found these to be helpful with my searches and to quench my thirst of knowledge as I always desire to learn more each day of my life.

3.  Google Labs

Now this is part of Google where you get a chance to see the products they are developing, and to give your input of what they should add, get rid of or adjust. I like that there is something for everyone.

4. Google Notebook

I use this Notebook on a daily basis to save research that I find throughout my searches. I have found it to be a very useful tool.  Within Firefox they have a bookmarklet that you can add to your browser, and all you have to do is select the information, right click on your mouse or touch pad and choose to Save to Google Notebook.  I normally create notebooks for each month of the year and notebooks for certain items I am researching for.

5.  Google Web History

I like to clear out my history on my computer on a regular basis so that I can continue to keep my browser’s function capabilities on a working fine process. I have learned there are times I cleared out the history or I have it automatically cleared out and there was a site that I visited and couldn’t remember the name of. Here is where Google Web History comes into play, and you select the best options of having your history recorded through Google. I researched this option for awhile and found it to be useful and it is not shared with anyone. It does not keep private SSL site sessions. It will only show the site was visited.

6.  Google Adwords

Now I know what you’re thinking already, “Don’t I have to pay to use Google Adwords?” No.  The great thing about this site is that you can do a search on keywords and don’t have to pay unless you want to buy them.  It is almost like a try before you buy. There are no limits of how often you can try too. Isn’t that fantastic?  I also like that you are able to save the keywords for later viewing. I do this often when I’m doing research for a client, or for my work projects.

7.  Google Trends

Google Trends allows for you to search for the latest trends and this is great if you are selling a product or trying to come up with ideas for a project.  I use this site about once a week but I plan to use it more as I have more work projects that call for this site.

8.  Google Reader

Google Reader is a RSS feed application where you are able to read all of your feeds in one place. With the recent redesign of Google Reader it now has a clean and uncluttered look which I like and I do not feel so lost within the application.  I read my feeds through here several times a week to gain more information on the top news, and trends going on in the world.  I also like that at times it suggests similar feeds that you may like to add to your RSS reader.

9.  Google Images

I use Google Images on a regular basis to find images that I need for my blogs and other materials. I like that it is free and I’m able to find just the right image I’m looking for each time.

10. Google Book Search

I enjoy this part of Google immensely as it allows me to find literature of interest and now magazines in order to gain more helpful ideas to write about too. Although some of the materials are a bit older it is still a good research to find information for school research papers and other projects.

Today was a good mail day as UPS finally came and dropped my package which contained the notebooks I purchased from Staples the other day. The good thing is that shipping was free! So if you need office supplies go to Staples.com as they have free shipping. My notebooks are for my ideas as I have so many and I have filled up my other notebooks. Unfortunately my favorite places the Dollar Tree store and the 99 Cent store has not had any notebooks at all for the last few months. Ugh! I hate having to order the simple things that I need and they don’t have it in the stores.

I dare not attempt to go into Walmart or Target during this holiday season, I don’t want to get hit in the back with shopping carts which by the way I hate and I turn around and say back off! That is one way to make me mad lol.  Also I have learned that children driving the shopping carts are dangerous as they are prone to go too fast and run into someone. So all I can say is parents watch your children with the carts.

Today I also received many magazine subscription renewal letters and well I think that in this recession they might as well give me a free year instead since I’m already a subscriber.  However, I know they are trying to make their money as they are a business.  I have been trying to see if I can these consumer magazines for free for my business, so if you know any information about please do let me know.

I have been spending a lot of time this week thinking about what is my worth? As one by one my blogging jobs have either closed down their services or moved to a revenue sharing style of payment, it has been on my mind of what is my limit of pay. I feel that although I do not have as many samples of my work compared to other writers in the style of writing that I am interested in. Throughout the last month I have found copywriting work that I have done when I was a rubber stamp and scrapbooking consultant. Did those advertisements work? They sure did! I was the fastest top recruiter in the company in 2006 and hit Manager levels fairly quickly.

I feel that my worth is more than what many of these blogging networks are paying and I have learned that revenue sharing is not paid blogging. I feel that I am not considered as an individual with talent but just a number. I have done the revenue sharing and well I would only get pennies or a few dollars for the month. To me that is not common sense to treat their bloggers in that manner. It will be easy for them to lose many bloggers who provide good quality content, as they prefer to paid for their work directly and not wait until the end of the month to see what they are going to get. Eventually some of these sites will tank because of this option and there have been many examples of this in the tech news as of late. I was so frustrated that I decided to stop this madness, and formulate a better plan for paid blogging. I love to blog, and I love to write, so right there two of my passions combined in one.

So what will I do now that I don’t have a blogging job? Well besides the continuous search for one that will allow me to grow not only as writer but to continuously learn more in a variety of topics. I will also continue in blogging here and my other blogs that I own. Don’t worry I do write professional as expert writer for other clients. I liked the blogging jobs as it helped me to write more on a regular basis. I am drawn to do some paid advertisement blogging so I will begin to do more of that, but I do not want to litter my blog with all of those advertisements. I do not desire to kill what little PR levels that I do have at this point. I believe the pay is at the amount that is more than any revenue share program could offer unless it is a mega site with millions and millions of visits then I possibly would consider it depending on the posted guidelines. The paid advertisement blogging will help to not only bring in some decent income but it will help pay for my attempt to obtain much needed services for my business.

So you see it comes down to making appropriate decisions in deciding your worth. How much are you willing to do? How much is enough pay? Do you feel respected as a contributing blogger to the site?

These are questions that a person does have to think about why trying to determine their true worth.
